It's getting to the point where when we read the news, even videogame-related, we can expect to be depressed. Today, as Gamespot originally reported, THQ kept the bad news coming, reporting a $431 million dollar loss in fiscal 2009.

These losses come despite strong sales of Saints Row 2 (2.6 million worldwide), Dawn of War II, WWE Legends of Wrestlemania and severely cutting back their employees. Still, CEO Brian Farrell is confident in the future, stating, "we have substantially completed a significant realignment of our business to position THQ for profitability and positive cash flow in 2010."

Someone step in and save my Warhammer games please.

Not only is THQ planning to have the financial benefit of a smaller staff, but it is also looking to sales of key titles like Red Faction: Guerrilla, UFC 2009 Undisputed, and Darksiders, amongst others.

Anthony says: I hope that THQ manages to turn its luck around. I've heard 'round the block that Darksiders is awesome, and I hope that strong sales of Relic properties will help the company bounce back. How else am I going to get me some more Company of Heroes?
