Founded in October 1994, in Kirkland, Washington, Monolith Productions became largely known for its LithTech Development System (which has evolved through several iterations across multiple generations of computers) as well as the games Monolith itself produced using the technology. Monolith Productions was acquired in 2004 by Warner Bros. Entertainment and currently develops projects across multiple platforms. Production partners have included Sega of America, Vivendi Universal Games, Disney Interactive, Fox Interactive, GT Interactive, and Microsoft.
Atari, who hold the rights to the classic shooter, have decided not to continue the project.
