The project "Novacore" was founded in April 2009 as an academic spin-off by Andre Overhagen and Peter Seydel. Both founders had obtained their diploma in applied information science at University Duisburg-Essen and successfully finished a course in Small-Business-Management (SBM). Among many competing concepts for start-up companies, the project was awarded with a fantastic third prize in the competition "StartUp-Duisburg 2008".
Following their studies, Andre Overhagen and Peter Seydel applied for the 'EXIST' scholarship for newly founded businesses with a scientific background, which was granted in April 2009 and guaranteed the funding of the project for one year.
Novacore Studios was officially founded as a company constituted under civil law on May 3rd 2010. On February 28, 2011, Novacore Studios Incorporated was founded.
Novacore Studios is cooperating with the consulting company “Die Berater Duisburg” and “Tom Putzki Consulting” and is closely linked to University Duisburg-Essen, the college for media design in Düsseldorf as well as the GamesFactory-Ruhr.
