Handmark was created to provide solutions that extend the usefulness of handheld computing devices. The company was formed in the fall of 2000 when consumer software publisher Palmspring Software acquired Internet-based Mobile Generation Software, Inc. The combined company changed its name and became Handmark with the launch of its new web presence in January 2001.
