EA Redwood Shores Studio

Electronic Arts' corporate headquarters is based in Redwood Shores, California. It is currently home to two major EA development studios; Maxis (the developers of The Sims franchise) and Visceral Games (the developers of the sci-fi horror franchise Dead Space.) EA's corporate headquarters is also the center of global publishing, marketing, HR and facilities initiatives.

Although some game development projects are run out of the EA Redwood Shores office (and although it is home to producers, marketing staff and other members of the development process for Electronic Arts products,) most titles do not bear the "EA Redwood Shores" branding, as the company typically uses generic EA logo treatment on titles where specific development team identification is not available.

For a short time, Electronic Arts promoted titles by an incubation design team called EA Redwood Shores Studio -- a crew focused on developing best-in-breed action games with state-of-the-art technology, visuals, audio and gameplay. On the heels of the success of the team's blockbuster videogame Dead Space, the studio was rebranded as Visceral Games in May of 2009 to better reflect the studio's culture, identity and focus on creating intense action-oriented intellectual properties.
