Fargo: One of the beautiful things about the Game Boy Advance is that it's brought classic games back to the forefront. Well, you have -- literally -- the original Zelda thanks to the Classic NES Series Remake. And then you've got newer stuff, like The Minish Cap (See Review), which has all the trappings of a modern game but sweet, sweet sprite graphics. It's like old-school meets new-school in some sort of delicious school sandwich.
But then again, back in 1998, Nintendo threw us all for a loop by coming out with a 3D Zelda game on the N64 that blew everyone away. Myself included. I remember sitting there wrapped up in a blanket in some sort of slackjawed frenzy busting my way through Ocarina of Time in a kind of feverish flu-induced haze. Afterwards I took a picture of the final screen and emailed it to all of my friends.
Then you have Wind Waker, which was also 3D, and scored a whopping five stars here on GameSpy. It had an art style that was unique: simple, yet alive.
Then along comes rumblings of a new Zelda game, pictured above (see more screens here). No more toon Link: he's looking hardcore.
So you'd think 3D is the future of Zelda, and the only way to play. But NO -- what about Four Swords? It is both 2D and st0nking, spelled with a zero. The mind reels.
But you: you've got to make a choice. Vote now for your favorite!
